Why sealed proposals matter

On Connexli, professionals cannot see each other's offers. That means every proposal you receive is their best one, not the minimum needed to edge out a rival. And because your identity stays hidden until you choose, nobody can pressure you while you decide.

Common questions

Does Connexli cost homeowners anything?

No. Connexli is free for homeowners. Professionals compete for your business, and you keep the savings that competition creates.

Is Connexli a real estate brokerage?

No. Connexli is the comparison and introduction layer. When you choose a professional, your listing agreement is signed directly with their brokerage, and they represent you from there.

How are professionals verified?

Every professional provides their real estate license number and brokerage when they sign up, and we confirm the license is active in their state before they can submit a single proposal.

Who sees my information?

Until you choose, professionals see only general details: area, home type, size, and price range. Your address and contact info are hidden until you choose to share them, and they are released only to the professional you select.

How many proposals will I get?

Up to 10 per round β€” enough competition to work in your favor, few enough that you'll actually read them all. If all 10 spots fill before your chosen window ends, the window closes early and your comparison is ready sooner. And if you want more options after reviewing, one tap opens a fresh round shown only to professionals who haven't proposed yet.

Is the listing fee shown in a Connexli proposal the only agent compensation I may encounter?

No. A Connexli listing proposal shows the listing professional's proposed compensation for representing you as the seller. Compensation involving a buyer's agent is a separate matter. Discuss your options and any amount you are willing to authorize with the listing professional you select.

Does Connexli tell me what I should offer a buyer's agent?

No. Connexli does not set or recommend commissions. Compensation is negotiable. Your selected real estate professional can explain your options and help you document your decisions.

When and where does Connexli launch?

Connexli is live now across the state of Utah. Homeowners and real estate professionals can register today. More states are coming soon, and waitlist members hear first.

Can Connexli help me find a buyer's agent too?

Yes β€” Find Your Buyer's Agent works the same way as the selling side: verified buyer's agents send you sealed proposals with their fees, experience, and their plan for helping you buy, and you compare them side by side. Your name and contact info stay hidden until you choose one. See how buying works on Connexli β€Ί

Do I need to be preapproved before creating a buyer profile?

No β€” anyone can create one. But here's the honest truth about how agents behave: they compete hardest for buyers who are ready to act. If you're preapproved (or paying cash), your profile carries a "Ready Now" badge and typically draws the strongest proposals. If you're earlier in the process, we'll show you exactly how to get ready β€” and the moment you are, your profile goes live to agents with one tap.

What's the difference between prequalified and preapproved?

Prequalification is a quick estimate based on what you tell a lender. Preapproval means a lender has verified your documents and issued a letter stating what they'll lend you. Sellers and agents take preapproval far more seriously β€” in a competitive market, it's the difference between an offer that gets read and one that gets set aside.

I live outside Utah. Can I use Connexli to find an agent here?

Absolutely β€” relocating buyers are some of the best-prepared buyers there are. Your profile lets you share where you're moving from, when you plan to visit, and whether you'd like video tours. Agents who specialize in relocation will say so in their proposals, and everything up to choosing your agent can happen before you ever set foot in Utah.

I need to sell my current home before I buy. Can Connexli handle both?

Yes β€” that's exactly what Connexli is built for. Tell us in your buyer profile and, with one tap, you can also receive sealed proposals from listing agents for your current home. Compare both sets side by side. Some agents may propose on both; you're free to choose the same agent for both or different agents for each.

Will agents call or email me after I create a buyer profile?

No. Agents never see your name or contact information while you're comparing. They see an anonymous snapshot of your search, and they respond with written sealed proposals. Your contact details are shared with exactly one agent β€” the one you choose.

How are buyer's agent fees structured in a Connexli proposal?

Since the industry rules changed in 2024, buyer's agents set their own compensation. On Connexli each proposal states it one of two ways β€” a percentage of the purchase price at closing, or a flat fee β€” and must also say how a shortfall is handled if the seller's contribution doesn't cover it: either the buyer pays the difference, or the agent accepts the seller-paid amount subject to a stated minimum. Every proposal spells this out plainly β€” that's the point of comparing.

Why should I compare buyer-agent compensation if a seller may contribute?

Because you should understand the compensation terms you are agreeing to before signing a representation agreement. A seller or listing side may contribute toward buyer-agent compensation, but the amount may not equal the amount you agreed to with your agent. Depending on your agreement and transaction, you may be responsible for a difference.

Is the lowest proposal automatically the best?

No. Connexli is designed to help you compare value, not simply price. Consider compensation together with experience, services, communication, availability, negotiation approach, market knowledge, and overall fit.

For professionals: how do buyer profiles work?

Buyer opportunities appear on your dashboard beside seller requests β€” anonymous snapshots with a verified readiness badge (Ready Now, Preparing) assigned from the buyer's actual financing answers. Buyers who are just researching don't enter the pool at all, so every profile you see is worth reading. Proposals are capped at 10 per round and the opportunity closes the moment it fills, sealed as always, and your proposal states a percentage or flat fee plus how you handle a seller-contribution shortfall (buyer pays the difference, or a minimum fee you'll accept) β€” so your terms can reflect what buyer representation actually costs you in time.

For professionals: what about buyers who already signed a Buyer Broker Agreement?

We screen for this in the buyer's profile. Buyers who tell us they're under an active exclusive agreement can't publish a profile until it expires β€” protecting you from procuring-cause conflicts and wasted effort.
