Most sellers never compare at all
The National Association of Realtors' own annual survey of home sellers has found, year after year, that roughly 8 in 10 sellers contact only one agent before signing a listing agreement — usually someone a friend recommended. For the largest sale of most people's lives, there's no comparison step at all.
That's not carelessness. Until now there was no practical way to compare. Interviewing five agents means five phone calls, five living-room presentations, five follow-up sequences — and every agent you meet knows exactly who you are and starts calling. So sellers take the path of least resistance: the first agent, at whatever terms that agent proposes.
- The listing fee gets treated as fixed. It isn't — compensation is negotiable and determined between you and your professional, but it's hard to negotiate when you've only ever heard one number.
- Marketing plans go unexamined. Professional photos, drone video, 3D tours, open houses, social campaigns — some agents include them all, some don't. You only find out what you didn't get after your home sits.
- Experience is taken on faith. "I know this area" is easy to say. Transaction counts in your price range are harder to fake — and easy to compare when they're side by side.
The fix isn't working harder — it's flipping the direction. Instead of you chasing agents one at a time, Connexli has agents come to you, in writing, in a format built to be compared.
Four steps, and you never pick up the phone
About two minutes: property type, area, size, condition, price range, and what matters most to you (lowest listing fee, fastest sale, best marketing…). Your name, address, and contact info are never shown to agents.
24 hours to 7 days — your timeline. Verified listing agents near you are notified and invited to compete.
Each agent submits their proposed listing-side compensation, marketing plan, services, experience, and cancellation terms. Sealed means sealed: no agent sees another's offer, so each brings their best terms first. We cap every round at 10 proposals so you get real choice without drowning in it — and if all 10 spots fill early, the window closes early and your results are ready sooner.
Everything unlocks at once, side by side. Want more options after reviewing? Open another round — shown only to agents who haven't proposed yet. When you choose, your contact info goes to that one agent only.
Six things you'll finally see next to each other
What each professional proposes to charge for representing you — percentage or flat fee, with an estimated dollar amount for your price range.
Photos, drone video, 3D tours, staging, open houses, social and print campaigns — spelled out, not implied.
Seller-side transaction counts from the last 12 months, reported by the professional, shown next to their fee.
How they'll work with you and keep you updated — visible in each proposal before you commit to anyone.
What's actually included, from staging consults to open houses — so a low fee with no services doesn't masquerade as a bargain.
Cancel anytime? 30-day notice? Locked for the listing term? The clause most sellers never think to ask about, compared up front.
Every professional on Connexli passes license verification before they can send a single proposal, and you're never obligated to choose any of them. Comparing costs you nothing — not even your privacy.
Understanding the two sides of agent compensation
A residential sale can involve two different compensation relationships, and they should never be blended together:
- Listing-agent compensation — the fee you agree to pay the brokerage that represents you, the seller. This is the amount Connexli listing agents are competing on in their proposals.
- Buyer-agent compensation — a separate matter involving the agent who represents the eventual buyer. You may agree, through your listing relationship and the transaction negotiations, to contribute toward it — or not. It is not automatically included in the listing fee shown on Connexli.
Your Connexli proposal covers the listing side. The fee you see in a listing agent's Connexli proposal is the amount that professional is proposing to charge for representing you as the seller. Compensation involving the agent who represents the eventual buyer is separate. If you choose an agent, you and that professional should discuss your options and document the compensation terms you authorize. Connexli does not set or recommend commissions — compensation is negotiable and determined by the parties and their licensed professionals.
Why does this matter? Buyer's agents often carry significant legwork in a transaction — property search, showings, offer strategy, and negotiation for their client. Whether and how much you contribute toward that side is a real decision with real trade-offs, and the professional you select can walk you through your options before anything is signed. Know what you're agreeing to before you agree to it.

Illustrative sample, not real agents or guaranteed terms. Your proposals will state each agent's actual fees, services, and experience.
Anonymous until you say otherwise. No obligation, ever.
- Agents never see your identity while they compete. They see your home's profile — type, area, size, price range — never your name, exact address, email, or phone. There is nothing to cold-call.
- Your information goes to one agent only. When you connect with your chosen professional, they alone receive your contact details. The other nine never learn who you were.
- No proposal binds you. You can review all ten, shortlist two, and still walk away. The listing agreement — the real commitment — is signed later, directly with the brokerage you choose, outside Connexli.
- Every professional is license-verified against state records before they can compete for anyone's business.
Why we cap each round at 10 proposals: more isn't better past a point — it's paralysis. Ten sealed proposals is enough competition to move fees and quality in your favor, and few enough that you'll actually read them all. Want more after that? One tap opens a fresh round for agents who haven't proposed yet.
